Managing
rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
consists of many components, and exercise is one of the most important. Limited
physical activity is one of the most common consequences of RA. Unfortunately, limited
physical activity may worsen arthritic problems, making many people with RA weaker,
less flexible and more prone to pain than necessary.
Although the pain, stiffness and fatigue that accompany RA tend to make physical
activity difficult, it's important to try and find an appropriate and regular
exercise program.
Being physically active may help people with RA become more flexible, stronger,
healthier and more active.
