Before you begin any
exercise program,
speak with your doctor. He or she can recommend the best exercise program for you
or refer you to a physical therapist who can design an appropriate home exercise
program for you. The types of exercises you do and the rate at which you progress
will depend on your individual needs and capabilities.
Numerous health clubs offer exercise programs for people with
arthritis;
your community may sponsor some activities, too. You also may want to check out
your local YWCA or YMCA chapter.
